Admissions are now open for 2025/2026
The students have written about their project:
Hannah:
Over the past several weeks, Olympe and I have been working to create Ramadan gifts for the auxiliary staff in our school as part of our IB Diploma Programme CAS project. Our original idea was to gift everyone with care boxes/packages, but due to COVID and the extra safety precautions we needed to take to ensure safety, we were unable to do this.
Instead, we used donations from our Secondary School to buy electronic gift cards for the staff. In addition, our Primary School made beautiful cards before the Spring break, thanking the staff for all they do.
I am really proud of the gifts we were able to make up for the staff, even in the current environment, and I hope that this is something that will continue to take place in coming years by other Year 12 students.
Olympe:
During this past month, Hannah and I have been working closely with the school in order to create Ramadan Gifts for BIS Abu Dhabi’s auxiliary staff. Creating this service project from beginning to end, and making this idea into a reality has been challenging, but our efforts have definitely paid off.
Ramadan is a time of giving back to the community, and I believe that our project will contribute to it.
We are planning on pursuing this initiative in the upcoming years too, and set a positive trend during this generous time of the year.
What is CAS?
The CAS Project is a key component of the IB Diploma Programme; it is a collaborative, well-considered series of sequential experiences, engaging students in one or more of the CAS strands of creativity, activity, and service.

The British International School Abu Dhabi (BIS Abu Dhabi) was deeply honoured to welcome Her Highness Sheikha Shamma Bint Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan to its campus on Thursday, 17 April 2025. Her Highness, President & CEO of the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators (UICCA) and The Climate Tribe, is a distinguished entrepreneur, thought leader, and researcher with a deep commitment to sustainability, climate change, and gender equity.
At The British International School Abu Dhabi, we believe that education is not just about academic success—it’s about nurturing compassionate, responsible young people who understand the importance of giving back. This Ramadan, I have been truly moved by the way our students have embraced the spirit of the holy month, demonstrating kindness, generosity, and a genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
Inspired by the latest Nord Anglia INSIGHTS article exploring why the Early Years are the most important years of a child’s education, we know that a child’s most significant learning happens during this time - in ways that are not always immediately visible.
