Across the year groups, students carried out various classroom activities to celebrate. These included designing an advertisement for an Arabic novel, decorating classroom doors with information and images related to the Arab countries, designing logos for the Arabic Language Week, learning the days of the week, and creating their own Days of the Week wheels to help them practice.
Students also had the opportunity to visit our Arabic Bookfair, where they were introduced to a variety of Arabic stories. This gave students a chance to engage with books and enjoy time reading together, all while strengthening their knowledge of the Arabic language.
Lastly, our Primary students had a chance to attend the Arabic Showcase put on by students across Year 2, Year 5 & Year 6. They enjoyed watching performances from fellow students, and then had the chance to go around the room and participate in a variety of activities related to the Arabic language, as well as enjoy Arabic storytelling from parents.

At The British International School Abu Dhabi, we believe that education is not just about academic success—it’s about nurturing compassionate, responsible young people who understand the importance of giving back. This Ramadan, I have been truly moved by the way our students have embraced the spirit of the holy month, demonstrating kindness, generosity, and a genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
Inspired by the latest Nord Anglia INSIGHTS article exploring why the Early Years are the most important years of a child’s education, we know that a child’s most significant learning happens during this time - in ways that are not always immediately visible.
