Learning in Action Discovery Morning in Foundation Stage 3
The evening began with a rousing performance of ‘This Love’ by Maroon 5, performed by the exciting Junior School of Rock. This warmed up the expectant audience nicely for the KS3 bands who appeared in the first half.
The Thirteenth Floor, made up entirely from students in year 7 eventually won this category, but they faced stiff competition from Undonne with their version of ‘Counting Stars’ and 5 2 1 who included an original song ‘Don’t Say No’ written by Inthira Mckenzie.
After the interval, we were treated to 3 wonderful performances from the 3 KS4 and 5 bands. Another Band Name, eventual winners of the KS4/5 prize included ‘Thanks for the Memories’ in their set. TBC included fantastic choreography and high energy too in their version of “Runaway Baby’, but the overall winners were Blackbirds with their new take on Beyonce’s ‘Crazy In Love’ and an atmospheric performance of ‘ Empire State of Mind’ with fantastic vocals from Thien Tran and rapping from Igor Vogels.
Senior School of Rock performed ‘I Can’t Feel My Face’ while the judges made their difficult decision before Blackbirds performed as a finale to the evening.
Thanks to all the musicians who performed and and the audience who made this an evening to remember!

We are thrilled that four of our Year 13 students have recently gained offers from ‘Elite’ USA universities.
With over 1,200 students, staff, and parents participating in the 5km run or walk, the event was a true reflection of the school’s commitment to fostering a strong sense of community.
At BIS HCMC, leadership is more than just a title — it’s about inspiring others, fostering a sense of community, and embracing personal growth. This year’s Head Students, in Year 13, — Atom, JaeYeon, Tim, and Serena — embody these values with authenticity and dedication, each bringing their unique strengths, creativity, and passion to their roles.
We are thrilled to announce that a record three students from the BIS HCMC Class of 2025 have received offers from the University of Oxford, ranked number 3 in the world, and the University of Cambridge, ranked number 5 in the world. A huge congratulations to Quynh An, YeongSeo (Judy) and JaeYeon on their extraordinary achievement that sets a new benchmark for BIS students.
These achievements come as BIS students begin to secure outstanding offers from top universities around the world, including USA, UK, Australia and Asia and these numbers will only continue to rise as more decisions will be made over the coming weeks.
