Goldilocks did not come to eat all the porridge but to say SORRY for breaking baby bear’s chair and eating all his porridge.
Children started their picnic by encountering a crime scene of the broken chair. They used a magnifying glass to search for clues as to whodunit and they sent emails or radio messaged the police on walkie talkies to report the crime.
We had an enormous daddy bear and a daddy bear’s bed in which we managed to fit every single F2 teddy bear, even trying to organise them from biggest to smallest.
We cooked porridge by pouring and scooping and mixing and everyone tried it, choosing either golden syrup or brown sugar for the topping. “so yummy” reported the children.
There were many different activities at the picnic relating to the Goldilocks story, including puzzles, building big and small chairs with different blocks, mixing oats and filling different sized bowls with different sized spoons, painting a bear or Goldilocks, role play cooking or picnics, taking a rest in daddy bear’s bed, reading bear story books…
Children in F2 have been learning a song and actions for the story in classes as part of our EYFS approach to our whole primary Talk 4 Writing. We are sure parents have noticed lots of storytelling language at home, specifically related to Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

With over 1,200 students, staff, and parents participating in the 5km run or walk, the event was a true reflection of the school’s commitment to fostering a strong sense of community.
At BIS HCMC, our Primary Expeditions are more than just school trips—they are life-changing expeditions that shape our students into confident, independent individuals. Earlier this month, our Year 4, 5, and 6 students embarked on thrilling journeys to Long Hai, Can Gio, and Cat Tien.
