Team B started with a high morale coming into the first set. Unfortunately, this morale quickly dissipated after a quick loss of 8 continuous points. Set 1 was then off to a slow start, we found ourselves more than 10 points behind. Communication was the main culprit of the game - the team lacked collaboration which lead to clear balls passing by easily. It was often the case of watching instead of initiating; our digging and setting skills were not reflected in the game, as the ball wasn't being attended. There were moments of brilliance and some amazing gameplay, but it wasn't enough to regain the set.
Set 2 was off to a regular pace, with several successful spikes and saves. Momentum was building, which helped the team gain some much needed confidence. The game was very close, we were often sharing the lead with AmIS. Although improvement was evident through the scores, our gameplay still lacked communication. AmIS were still able to remain close due to several communication issues, which could have been avoided by a simple call of the ball. However, with a clutch serve by Ngoc Anh, we were victorious in the second set.
Initially as the third set began, momentum and confidence were at peak levels. However, this feeling hastily disappeared after a few points due to a loss of concentration. A highlight would be some of Jody's amazing digs, which saved the ball in order to keep us in the game. However, the theme of poor communication was still prominent, and unfortunately resulted in our loss. Looking forward, after playing AmIS' best volleyball team, it was clear that our skills are definitely on par, if not, stronger than theirs. With better communication and more commitment to the ball, we can easily come out victorious, because the passion is already there.
