During International Week, Year 5 and 6 were raising money for the Twinning Toilets charity working in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The aim was to raise enough money to provide 6 families with a toilet and clean sanitation. We hoped to twin with each of the six primary school toilets and have managed to raise 186,000 Huf – this should be enough to provide 7 families with this potentially life changing opportunity.
In Year 3 and 4, we were raising for a digital literacy program for the Tanodahalozat in Batonyterenye in Nograd county charity. We have managed to raise 177,000 Huf to help them with this. In addition to the literacy program, Early Years, Year 1 and 2 students donated a van full of food (including cooking oil, flour, pasta, tinned goods and chocolate treats) for the more immediate needs the families supported by this organisation need.
A huge thank you to everyone who has generously helped to support families in need both here in Hungary and internationally.
The Junior Changemakers
Earlier this year, we had the pleasure of participating in the Nord Anglia Snowsport Expedition in the breathtaking region of Villars-sur-Ollon, in the Swiss Alps. This was the very first year our school organised an expedition like this, so it was definitely a one-of-a-kind experience.
Our Year 2 school trip to the Children's Railway this week was a great experience. We started our journey at Hűvösvölgy and made our way up to Széchenyi-hegy.
