This week, Year 7 have been looking at the effect of air particles on a falling Whirlygig.
They devised an experiment to test how the length of the Whirlygig’s wings affected the time it took to fall.
This shows the effect of air drag as it fell.
This lesson incorporated all aspects of Science: Chemistry – the air particles, Physics – drag, and Biology – as these are a model of some seeds types, and also the importance of The Scientific Method – to plan, perform, and analyse an experiment and the results.
The Whirlygigs fell very quickly, but we did manage to get some action shots.

Earlier this year, we had the pleasure of participating in the Nord Anglia Snowsport Expedition in the breathtaking region of Villars-sur-Ollon, in the Swiss Alps. This was the very first year our school organised an expedition like this, so it was definitely a one-of-a-kind experience.
Our Year 2 school trip to the Children's Railway this week was a great experience. We started our journey at Hűvösvölgy and made our way up to Széchenyi-hegy.
