Dear Parents,
As we wrap up the year, it’s a great time to reflect on the wonderful events and activities that have brought our community closer together.
Here’s a quick recap of what we’ve accomplished so far:
In September, we welcomed new families with two Parent’s Coffee Mornings, providing them the opportunity to connect, meet with class reps and familiarize themselves with the school community. Newcomers were also treated to a Budapest tour led by Sandra, showcasing the city’s best spots.
In September, our parents’ clubs started, providing opportunities for fun and connection. From the weekly Hiking Group and monthly Cooking Club to the Book Club, Knitting Club, Badminton, Yoga, Hungarian Classes, Scubafanatics, and Patchwork Sewing, parents have been coming together through shared passions.
These clubs have fostered a strong sense of community, and we’re excited to continue growing and welcoming new ideas in the coming year.
The Cooking Club, organized by Judit, started off with a delicious Hungarian feast, and our Knitting Club began, bringing parents together to create hats and scarves for children in hospitals in Romania.
The highlights of September was our Wine & Cheese evening at charming Villa11, a wonderful evening for parents and teachers to enjoy lively conversations and good vibes in a warm atmosphere.
In October, we celebrated World Teachers’ Day with a surprise breakfast for over 100 teachers, led and served by Luna’s energetic team.
A great success in October was the Shoe Collection, which, thanks to Szilvia’s dedicated efforts, gathered 520 pairs of shoes for those in need.
We also celebrated International Week with global food tastings and engaging activities for children, all set in a school decorated colourful, world-themed displays and flags, thanks to Gabriela’s creative team.
Our Halloween, organized by Nikolett’s experienced team, was once again a fantastic success bringing joy and excitement to school.
In November, we introduced a new format for Parent’s Coffee Morning, now combined with delicious breakfast featuring cuisine from a different country each month. We kicked off with delightful Greek menu.
We also enjoyed a Georgian Cooking Class with a wine tasting, offering a fun and immersive cultural experience.
Our Christmas Fair organized by Sophia and her dedicated team at the end of November was a standout event, filled with festive activities, delicious food, an exciting raffle with truly great prizes, a Christmas market, a second hand book sale and live performances.
December brought a touch of magic to the school. The Secret Santa exchange in the secondary was full of excitement as students eagerly swapped presents, wondering who their secret gift-giver was. The mystery added an extra layer of fun, with surprises and smiles all around.
The primary students were visited by none other than Mikulás (local Santa)! His arrival was met with excitement, wonder, sparkling eyes, and festive cheer. The joy on the kids faces was priceless.
But the celebrations didn’t stop there. The primary students were given the opportunity to participate in a heartwarming Act of Kindness. They could gift a piece of szaloncukor or any sweet treat to someone they value—whether it was their teacher, a member of the kitchen staff, a cleaner, or security personnel. The smiles and gratitude exchanged during this simple yet meaningful gesture were touching.
Mikulás or Santa may have brought the holiday magic, but it was the students' acts of kindness that truly made this time of year special!
So, this was our journey over the last four months in 2024. Looking forward, we’re excited to continue building our community.
We eagerly anticipate the International Summer Fair, our next big event, and many more opportunities to connect and share in the coming months.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to our recent initiatives.
Whether you volunteered your time, donated items, or simply showed up to support, we truly appreciate your involvement.
Thank you for being such an important part of everything we do!
We wish you and your families a relaxing winter holiday, a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!
