Primary Science Week

Primary Science Week has been a big success this year, with a wide range of activities on offer for the children to enjoy, led by our talented Year 6 students. A big thank you for all the children who took part in the Top Dog Go Kart STEAM Challenge; the children loved testing the designs on the red slide to see which was the fastest and could also keep Top Dog safe - the final results will be shared in assembly next week. Year 6 also led a number of hands-on experiments including a marble run, rowing challenge, air cannon and a big balancing beam, running them voluntarily during break times.

Alongside the practical experiments, there were also large scale Kahoot quizzes in the auditorium, as well as the Dr George videos and Check-in Questions, also led created by our Year 6 team. Back in class, there have also been practical Science lessons across the Primary School connected to our current topics. Engaging with practical Science, as well as appreciating that collaboration is a key part of being a scientist, are important learning outcomes for us here at BISB and a big thank you goes out to all the children who have helped make this happen during Science Week this year.
