On 28th March, Primary held our annual "When I Grow Up Day," an exciting event that allows students to explore their aspirations and learn about various professions. Students arrived at school dressed as the careers they dream of pursuing, showcasing their creativity and enthusiasm.
Throughout the day, we were fortunate to have several parent volunteers join us in the classrooms. Each class had the wonderful opportunity to hear from at least 2 parents. They generously shared insights into their professions, providing students with a real-world perspective on different career paths. From doctors to engineers, ballerina to human resources, educators to reporter, our volunteers inspired the children with stories about their work and the journeys that led them to their current roles.
This event not only encouraged students to think about their future but also fostered a sense of community as we celebrated the diverse careers represented within our school.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the parents who participated and made this day a memorable experience for our students. We hope this event has sparked curiosity and ambition in our young learners as they consider their future possibilities.
Here at BSB, the student’s journey to explore about higher education and careers aspiration starts early.
Besides the creative and informative annual “When I grow up day” in Primary, when students reached Secondary school, they follow a Higher Education and Careers preparation programme.
Under the guidance of their Form Tutor, and Higher Education and Careers Counsellor at BSB, students will have time regularly to reflect and build a personalised ongoing portfolio of their own strengths, skills, talents and interests, including a store of career-related guidance tasks and materials. This they will carry with them through their school journey which will leave them well-informed when choosing IGCSE and IB Diploma options, and making choices for higher education and beyond.
BSB Graduates have an excellent track record of being offered places in Top 100 universities around the world including Cambridge, Imperial College London, UCL, UC Berkeley, UCLA, Michigan, New York U, U of Toronto, Edinburgh, Manchester, NUS, Seoul National U, KAIST, Sydney U and many more.
