Russell strongly believes that developing culture in a learning environment is essential creating an atmosphere where all learners feel valued, respected, and have a voice. Building a culture of open discussion and debate can really create a place where learners want to learn and grow with each other; ensuring there is always equity and access to all learning. Displaying respect and nurturing well-being in all individuals will result in them feeling valued and inspired to reach their full potential. Russell’s passion and belief in the power of learning conceptually and drawing on opportunities for inquiry and agency around big ideas helps provide opportunities for students to transfer new understandings and experiences to new contexts. The aim being that they use their curiosity and passion for learning to impact themselves, their environment and the connections they make to the wider world throughout their lives.
Russell is here in Singapore with his wife, two children and cat, Dim Sum. He enjoys walking, hiking and tennis, whilst also supporting his children in their sporting and musical endeavours.
