ICS students recently participated in the Model United Nations Climate Change Conference and Regional Event. Hear about their virtual MUN experiences!
Last week students in Grades 8 to 11 took part in the Nord Anglia Education Model United Nations Regional Event, which was organized by the British International School, Budapest. While this annual event typically takes place in person, our dedicated participants connected virtually this year.
For some of our students it was their first experience as MUN delegates, and for others it was their first time as co-chairs of a committee. In both cases, we are proud to say that our delegates and co-chairs were well prepared and actively participated. Congratulations, everyone!
Students also recently celebrated our annual MUN Climate Change Conference with Grade 7. The delegates, who have represented the attending countries (Brazil, the US, Costa Rica, Kenya, Qatar, Bangladesh, Kenya and France), successfully solved part of the causes and impacts of the climate crisis.
In addition, local indigenous communities (in the form of Spanish Culture students) voiced their concerns to help us understand the urgency and importance of taking action as soon as possible. After our presentations, opening speeches and resolutions, we finally reached an agreement to address this global crisis.
Social media is a big part of young people’s daily lives. It changes how they talk to each other, share their stories, and connect with the world. But have you ever thought about how it affects them deep inside?
