Physical activity is an important part of your child's personal development. As well as keeping students fit and healthy, team and individual sports offer an outstanding opportunity to develop their confidence, skills and sense of teamwork and dedication.
Sport is one of the key components of the extra-curricular provision. We have a wide-ranging programme of sports and physical activity, so every child can find something to enjoy. At our school we aim to provide a very high standard of coaching and competition for the best athletes while enabling everybody to find something they can enjoy. We have collaborations with highly qualified and experienced external coaches who supplement our teaching staff in sports like Soccer, Gymnastics, Basketball, Taekwondo and Tennis. Students can participate in sports every day if they wish, and for the enthusiast there are outstanding opportunities to compete and excel.
Teams
We are proud to offer U19 Boys and U19 Girls teams in Soccer, Basketball and Volleyball. Atheletes will have the opportunity to travel to Nord Anglia competitions within Europe to compete against our sister schools from Madrid, Bratislava, Budapest, Prague, Rotterdam, Moscow, Warsaw as well as four schools from Switzerland. Similarly our U14 and U11 Soccer and Basketball teams can enter a joint event competing against the other Nord Anglia schools. We also offer primary and secondary Cross Country and Athletics teams. There are also a selection of other sporting and recreational activities running on a competitive and non-competitive basis throughout the school year including; Badminton, Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Table Tennis, GAA, Gymnastics, Athletics, Multisport, Rock Climbing, Striking and Fielding Games (softball, rounders, cricket), Junior Tennis, Fitness, Junior Archery, and more.
When it comes to finding the right school, there are countless data sources to explore. You can pore over the school’s test scores and university destinations, websites, and social media in search of signs that this could be the place.
But some soul-searching is also needed into your own aspirations. What is it, precisely, that you want for your child, beyond vague aims of them being “happy and successful”? It’s a daunting question, and requires reflection around your ideas about learning, community and perhaps even the nature of a meaningful life.
At Nord Anglia Education schools, we encourage our students not only to learn foreign languages but to think, feel, and experience the world through them. Many of our schools around the world, from the United States to Switzerland and from Vietnam to China, offer a world-class bilingual education.
Bilingualism—the ability to communicate fluently in two languages—helps children learn and grow. At our schools, we understand being bilingual helps students truly excel because it boosts their thinking skills, improves decision-making, and enhances communication. Plus, it helps them appreciate other cultures on a deeper level.
Read on for a closer look at all the benefits of bilingualism.
