Early Years Campus Weekly Update

Early Years Campus Weekly Update - Early Years Campus Weekly Update

Dear Parents,

Last week was a truly delightful and enriching time as we celebrated our annual World Book Day with great enthusiasm and lots of fun. The day was filled with engaging activities centred around books, stories, and the magic of reading.

We began our day with an array of excitement as the children paraded around as their favourite book characters during our World Book Day Parade. The school was buzzing with energy and creativity, setting the stage for a day filled with imagination and fun.

In a special assembly, our teaching team brought 'The Rainbow Fish' story to life through a captivating and funny play. A big thank you to Ms. Lewsey for her remarkable costume creations that added an extra sparkle to the storytelling experience. The children really enjoyed watching their teachers perform this cherished children's book, reminding us all of the power of storytelling.

Throughout the day, we engaged in various activities that nurtured a love for reading among our students. From the delightful Story Door Hunt, where children guessed the storybooks illustrated on classroom doors, to visiting the Bookshop where they could purchase a book (with all proceeds going to charity), every moment was a step towards fostering a lifelong passion for books and stories. Thank you to everyone who donated a book to this activity.

A highlight of the day was the special story time session that spanned the entire school, allowing children to choose their Storytime Adventure and listen to tales read by different teachers. It was a beautiful reminder of the joy and camaraderie that stories bring, uniting us all in the love for stories.

As we reflect on the magical moments of World Book Day, let us continue to nurture a love for reading in our children, knowing that through stories, they embark on endless adventures and discoveries. A special thank you to Ms. Griffin for organising the day’s events – we all had such fun!

Looking ahead to International Day - 30th May

Our next joint Home/School event will be our annual International Day on 30th May. Please mark this date in your diary if you would like to join us for the Opening Parade, providing food for the ‘Food Fair’ or hosting a ‘Country Room’ across the full day. Ms. Lewsey will be reaching out to all parents this week with information about International Day and how parents can get involved in different ways.

We look forward to another exciting week ahead, filled with more opportunities for growth, learning, and exploration.

Yours sincerely,

Ruth Hanson
