NAIS Pudong Scholarships
This year’s senior drama production was not just a show — it was an experience. As parents and guests arrived at NAIS Pudong, they weren’t ushered into a theatre right away. Instead, they stepped into a 1920s speakeasy, complete with vintage jazz, decorations, and guests mingling in costume. It was the perfect prelude to what would become one of the most immersive performances we’ve ever staged.
The Great Gatsby came to life in unexpected ways. Rather than watching from a distance, our audience became part of the story. The lines between performer and spectator blurred as students moved through the space, drawing us into Gatsby’s glittering — and ultimately tragic — world. During the interview before the show, our Year 13 student, Kayson M, said, portraying Gatsby was a journey of self-discovery. He not only uncovered a deep interest in acting but also realised the extent of what he is capable of on stage. This experience has inspired him to pursue further studies in film at university, and it’s something he will carry with him for the rest of his life.
Audience members left the evening deeply impressed by the sophistication and emotional depth of the cast. For our students, it was more than a production — it was a chance to take creative risks and bring literature to life.
To everyone who joined us: thank you for stepping into Gatsby’s world. And to our incredible students and staff: Ms. Styles, Mr. Thompson, Ms. Cho, and Mr. Yang — congratulations on a show that will be remembered for years to come.
The thrill of competition, the roar of the crowd, and the spirit of international camaraderie—our U11 athletes recently returned from the Nord Anglia International Schools Multi-Sports Event in Chengdu, and what an adventure it was!
Last Sunday, NAIS Pudong had a Spring Fling filled with laughter and joy! International families from Shanghai gathered on campus and had a wonderful family day with their children and parents on a sunny spring day.
Football season this year was fantastic! This was the first U19 girls team we’ve had in many years, and I’m in complete admiration of many girls in our team giving the sport a go for the first time, bringing football back to life for us!
