Our Year 6 and 7 adventurers had an incredible Enrichment Week exploring the stunning coastal regions of Fujian Province with Wild China Education. They immersed themselves in marine ecology, local culture, and environmental conservation across Luoyuan and Pingtan.

In Fuzhou’s historic Sanfangqixiang, students took part in the interactive Merchant’s Quest before becoming young scientists in Luoyuan, where they learned about horseshoe crab conservation, water quality testing, and breeding programmes. They also visited a local fishing village school, gaining a glimpse into daily life in the region.

The group hiked through the scenic Niu Meixi Stream, discovering traditional villages and breathtaking mountain landscapes, then continued to Pingtan Island for hands-on marine restoration activities, crab releases, and a fishing boat tour. Each day was filled with exploration and reflection, and mealtimes were a highlight, featuring delicious Fuzhou dishes and a celebratory seafood dinner on the final night.

Throughout the trip, students strengthened their teamwork, curiosity, and understanding of environmental protection. Crabs, culture, and conservation made this a journey they will never forget.
