WINDERMERE PREPARATORY SCHOOL

OUR HISTORY

Founded in 2000 with 175 students in Pre-K through Grade 9, Windermere Prep added a grade each year until celebrating its first graduating class in 2008.

In 2014, our first “charter students”—those who attended from Pre-K through Grade 12—graduated, setting the tone for generations of Laker success. Today, we proudly recognize our “Laker Lifers,” students who have spent 13 or more years growing and learning at WPS. Our alumni network now includes over 1,000+ graduates making an impact around the world.

Windermere Prep is the only school in Central Florida to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme—a rigorous, globally recognized curriculum that prepares students for success in college and beyond. In 2024, we became a candidate school for the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP), working toward full authorization as an IB World School across all divisions.
