HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER COURSES

Windermere Preparatory School offers a selection of high school summer courses designed to provide students with opportunities to advance academically, explore new subjects, and prepare for the upcoming school year. These courses are tailored to meet the needs of students entering grades 9 through 12 in the 2025-26 school year.

Course Offerings

Week of June 2-6 from 9 AM-12 PM

• Forensics Investigations CSI - This course introduces students to the exciting field of forensic science, focusing on the biochemistry behind solving crimes. Students will learn how biological evidence, like blood and DNA, is collected, analyzed, and used in real-world criminal investigations. Hands-on activities, group projects, and guest speakers will help students understand how forensic labs work in solving crimes.
• Life Unlocked (Skills They Don’t Teach in School) - High school is tough—balancing school, activities, and social life while also preparing for the future. Life Unlocked is a hands-on, interactive camp designed to equip students with the essential skills they need to navigate high school and beyond with confidence. From landing a first job and managing money to staying organized, reducing stress, and communicating effectively, this course covers the real-world lessons that traditional classes don’t teach.  Students will build a strong foundation in organization, time management, and professional communication, while also developing public speaking confidence and self-care strategies to handle stress. Through engaging activities, real-world scenarios, and interactive workshops, students will create a personal “Life Unlocked” portfolio, including a resume, organization system, and essential communication tools.

Week of June 9-13 from 9 AM-12 PM

• Future Health & Sports Leaders - The Future Health Leaders: Sports, Wellness & CPR Career Prep Camp Designed for high school students interested in careers in healthcare. Camp offers hands-on learning, career exploration, and leadership development in a fun, interactive environment. Campers will gain valuable insights into health-related professions, build wellness knowledge, and earn CPR and First Aid certification—ideal for aspiring babysitters, lifeguards and sports coaches. By the end of the week, students will leave with practical skills, leadership experience, and a clear path toward a future in health and wellness.
• Zoology - The Zoology Summer Camp is a five-day immersive experience designed for high school students interested in animal science, conservation, and the role of modern zoos. The course will explore the evolution of zoos, ethical considerations in animal care, advanced animal classification, and the science behind animal behavior and enrichment. Through engaging seminars, hands-on activities, and case studies, students will analyze real-world conservation challenges and develop solutions. We have a field trip planned mid-week to visit a local preserve.  Students will get behind-the-scenes insights into zoo operations, enrichment programs, and conservation efforts through some on-campus presentations as well.
  
   

Week of June 23-27 from 9 AM-12 PM

• Mythbusters - This is not your average science camp. It’s fast-paced, explosive (literally), and packed with MythBusters-style challenges designed to make students think, test, and question the world around them. Campers will learn real lab skills, bust common science myths, and compete in team challenges—all while designing their own original experiment by the end of the week.
  
   

Week of July 14-18 from 9 AM-12 PM

• Money Mastery - Step into a summer of empowerment with this dynamic financial literacy course designed to equip you with essential money skills for life! This class isn’t about crunching numbers - it’s about gaining the confidence and practical know-how to manage your money, achieve your dreams, and set the foundation for a secure future. In Money Mastery, you'll explore the ins and outs of budgeting, saving, and smart spending through interactive activities and real-world scenarios. Join us this summer and transform the way you think about money - because financial freedom starts with mastering the basics!
